Lars MikkelsenWhen he was 27, he enrolled in the National Theatre School of Denmark and was graduated in the year 1995. He also appeared in The Killing, a drama series that was aired across the world. Then, he appeared in Those Who Kill II and Borgen III, two other popular Danish dramas. He also played the lead role in Sherlock the series, a BBC drama in which was the character Charles Augustus Magnussen, whose blackmailer. In the American TV series House of Cards, his character was the president of Russia. He was awarded an International Emmy Award in 2018 for his role in Danish TV drama Herrens Veje, which was shown in the UK in 2019 as Ride Upon the Storm. Mikkelsen is fluent in English, Swedish, German as well as Danish as well as his mother tongue. He also has learned different accents. He has stated that the two brothers first learned English by listening to Monty Python records and learning the comedy sketches
